Come when the raven calls
Come to the forest
Come with your wishes
Your dreams of enchantment
Voices in the wood
Secrets on the wind
Here the heart mends
Here the dream is found

Mamasita
02:12
|
|||
Graying with the clouds, glistening with the sun
River, how I'd love to be your daughter
Now the sharp-edged stone, oh, I feel it smooth away
When I skip it lightly 'cross your water
By your side, I sit and listen
By your side, I reach for more
I weave my memories into lilac dreams
And I leave them on the shore

The Eagle
03:47
|
|||
I was climbing among the rocks
When I looked down to the river and I saw it
An eagle lifting from the trees
And I knew someone was going to die
Someone good was going to die
There’s nothing you can do when you see that eagle
Nothing you can change
The price we pay for love is the pain of loss

God knows you never get a breath
He loves you walking through the flame
God knows he's tortured you to death
And now you turn and turn again
I guess it's choices that you make
Flaws in your skin
Choices that you make
In your strong and foolish heart
You're caught up in a town of hate
And you don't know fear
Get out now, it's not too late
You've got no business bein’ here
Choices that you make
Flaws in your skin
Choices that you make
In your strong and foolish heart
You wear a name that's not your own
Throw it away
I can feel the spirits moan
As you move from day to day
Choices that you make
Yes, it's flaws in your skin
Choices that you make
In your sad and foolish heart
Your soul lies broken in the dirt
Still you're stronger than me
Your eyes close up with my every word
Still I’m amazed at what you see
Choices that you make
Flaws in your skin
Choices that you make
In your deep and foolish heart

A Reckoning
04:02
|
|||
Sister, it is time for a reckoning
You turned from me
So you wouldn’t see yourself in my eyes
I believed that you were strong
I was so wrong
Truth crumbled you like a dried oak leaf
You were gone, I could not weep
I turned from you, and yet I knew myself in your eyes
Well, I was told the truth and I know it to be so
Your spirit came and cried at mother’s feet
I can hold no more anger
I forgive you
It’s okay
It’s okay
It’s okay

[Lyrics by Laurette Langille]
My mother told me a long time ago
Girl, you better plant deep
You only reap what you sow
I can’t thread a needle worth a damn
But I’ll take this shovel
Bury myself where I stand
My mother told me
Get out of here
There is nothing for you
But farmers and preachers and cheap beer
Can’t thread a needle worth a damn
But I’ll take this shovel
Bury myself where I stand
Well, I’ve been here
And I’ve been there
Gave up trying, that’s why I never went anywhere
Can’t thread a needle worth a damn
But I’ll take this shovel, real heavy shovel
Bury myself right here where I stand

End Of My Days
03:32
|
|||
I keep holding on
Don’t want to let it go
I keep holding on
This is all I know
And I throw away
And I throw away
Another breath of time
Come wind, come rainstorm
Come swell my dream
Come fire, come dragon
Come burn me clean
Give me two silver dollars
Pay the boatman, haul the line
Oh, I’m coming to the end of my days
Oh, I’m coming to the end of my days

Let The Darkness Fall
03:37
|
|||
Let the darkness fall
Like a blanket all around you
Let the nighttime wind breathe a story in your ear
Starlight prickle up your spine
Moon glow fill you up like wine
Let the darkness fall
Like a blanket all around
Let the darkness fall
Like a blanket all around me
Let the nighttime wind breathe a story in my ear
Starlight trickle up my spine
Moon glow fill me up like wine
Let the darkness fall
Like a blanket all around

If You Can Wake
00:40
|
|||
If you can wake before the dawn
Throw your window open wide
Stars will call you out to play
And tumble with the night
You can feel the laughter
And magic of the dew
Stars are calling, go and play
Dawn is coming soon

Suzanne Langille Brooklyn, New York
Suzanne Langille is known for her work with guitarist Loren
Connors and the band Haunted House. The Wire described her
vocals without describing her voice. Instead, it focused on Langille’s aesthetic, how she abandons ego to “throw herself at the feet of her material and let it speak through her.” A lyricist as well as vocalist, Langille is as devoted to the spoken word as to song.
